Why measure my Twitter Popularity?
As with most Twitter Tools, it's mostly for fun, although vanity often pushes us to know how popular we are compared with others. You know whether or not Twitter delivers what you want, but it might be interesting to know how you rank against other Twitter users in the popularity stakes, and it could be invaluable for you to know who the really popular Twitterers are so that you can follow them.
How do you measure my Twitter Popularity?
We look at the number of followers that you have, and the number of tweets you have created, and then calculate a result based on 3 factors :
1. The ratio of people who follow you to people you follow - the basis for this is that you can get loads of followers just by following loads of other people, then hoping that they follow you back. But the real indication of your own popularity is how many people choose to follow you without any reciprocal follow
2. The ratio of your followers to the number of Tweets you have generated - the argument here being that if you can generate lots of followers from a relatively small number of tweets, then those tweets must be really interesting
3. The total number of followers you have - on the basis that there is no smoke without fire, and that those who do have a significant number of followers really are interesting after all!
Ok, how popular am I and what's my score?
