Client Brief: New design for a China Workshop and Consultancy Website with more obvious calls-to-action
My client provides consultancy and workshops all over the World to Chinese and Western companies that need to develop better relationships with one another. His existing website had been quite successful at delivering traffic, but less successful at converting visitors to new clients. In addition, the website needed a new look and all of the content built up over the past few years needed to be incorporated into the new site.
The website has been delivered using the WordPress framework with a premium theme developed by WooThemes and includes numerous plugins, such as Testimonials Manager to allow a random display of testimonials throughout the site, and a slider control to showcase different activities on the home page.
Existing blog content was exported from the old site and imported into the new one, but many other pages in the old site were rebuilt to provide a better user experience and better SEO. Redirects (permanent 301’s) in the .htaccess file are used to ensure that no broken links occur as page names have also changed to improve search engine optimisation.
To encourage more conversions we have introduced many more calls-to-action – from the buttons in the home page slider controls to enticing ‘teaser’ text.
The broad brush approach taken by the old site has been replaced with a firm focus on the client’s primary activities: Consulting and Workshops.
