Website security with Sucuri Premium

No website is completely safe from attack, but using one of a number of premium security plugins on your site can reduce the risk.

We recently installed and configured the Sucuri Premium plugin into a WordPress site for a client, and have installed it on a number of other sites too. Website security is an important consideration for all sites these days, and although Sucuri offers free scanning (if you go to the Sucuri website and enter your domain name they will scan it for malware) their premium offering is much more comprehensive.

Your website can never be 100% protected against malware, but you can take steps to reduce the risk – hackers will always tend towards the easier targets, and using a service like Sucuri pushes your website further away from the easiest sites to hack. In addition, if your site does get hacked Sucuri will clean it up for you, removing the malware to get your site up and running again.

Sucuri Premium – Advantages

The advantage of running the premium version of Sucuri is that you get scheduled, proactive server-side scanning. This means that once you have set it up Sucuri will periodically scan your site files and inform you if it spots anything that shouldn’t be there. The WordPress plugin will also advise you when good and bad access attempts have been made to log in to your site dashboard, and also when pages have been changed.

All in all, it’s a small price to pay for peace of mind. It is your business, after all, and if you had a bricks-and-mortar business I’m sure it would make sense to protect your premises from vandalism and theft. So why not your website?

How much does Sucuri protection cost?

Through the Sucuri website, you can protect your site for $89.99 per year.

However, we are offering the same service to our clients for £52+vat per year as part of our multi-site Sucuri licence. This price also includes getting it set up on your website. How’s that for value?

We highly recommend Sucuri and think it is a no-brainer solution for all websites. If you’d like us to install it on your site, or if you have any other questions about securing your website, please get in touch…
